Long Term Water Storage & Emergency Water Purification

i found quite a few and rather lengthy articles on long term water storage as well as the ways to go about emergency water purification.  they were quite the read to say the least.

one video that i did like for it's practical approach to pre-emergency preparation was this one by Modern Survival Blog that's hosted on YouTube.

Since it takes a bit of time, on some systems, for the videos to load i don't think i'll be embedding too many more in this blog - the link (as placed above) seems to be in everyone's best interest.  i do hope that if you're going forward with putting some energies into long term water storage that you give that video a view.

FREE hidden electricity in Your Home

How many times has it happened to you or your family that your home's power's gone out and you find yourself scratching around in the dark for a flashlight or candles?  During extended power outages even cell towers will go "down" when their back up fuel runs out.

The one constant that usually remains is also the secret and FREE hidden electricity in your home.

Have a look at the below video (or click on the RED link above) for a quick "tell all" on what "they" don't want you to know. - there's a few seconds of adverts and then the video will play -

Choices, Choices and even more Choices

With spring 2012 now just barely a recent memory i've had the opportunity to catch up on a lot of research and reading or is it vice versa?

One of the 1st events that happened for me this spring was the Spring General Conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Although this year i wasn't in Utah to attend in person being able to watch most of the two days of conference via BYU "TV" was very spiritual and guiding.  The General Conference for the LDS (Mormon) Church occurs twice a year, in the spring and fall and is hosted in a center that makes the opera center in Oslo blush.

While trying to figure what my family's travel plans for the up and coming summer "holiday" would be i ran across a great article about Book of Mormon Trips, Cruises and Tours.  It seems that with so many Holy sites for LDS members right in the USA that one would just run out of time before even being able to approach the venue for the international trips, tours and cruises.  One of the greatest parts of those trips is that with a common mainstream Christian history the tours offered in the Mid-Eastern Holy Lands bear down in to one's soul as if our Heavenly Father himself was suggesting a booking there.

Now, High School and University graduation time is upon us and so many of our loved ones are heading out to the mission field to spread God's Gospel.  Whether just a few hundred miles away or on the other side of the world, loving gifts from home for our missionaries are always welcomed and a great moral booster.  Now a days, with online shopping available, the choices of what to send, how to send it least of all where to get it and what's a reasonable price to pay for it, all seem daunting.  Luckily enough i did manage to run across a great online shopping guide for just such a situation.

With graduations upon us there's been a flurry of folks relocating into and out of our local area.  It's wonderful to know that there are so many LDS Real Estate Agents that one can turn to knowing that they're well familiar with the specific needs of an LDS family.

Going through our possible travels for the summer we notice a great little hamlet just south of the Rochester, New York area.  Located just moments away from Ellicottville, NY and what is about the best skiing on the East Coast, West Valley, New York is a quaint hamlet that's nestled right in the heart of mother nature.  One does need to insure to have an extra memory card along for their camera when traveling through West Valley as the rolling hills are home to many beautiful vistas.

It seems that one of the major "buzz phrases" this year has been all about the doomsday preppers and the doomsday scenario of 21 December 2012.  Even if none of these preppers and their end of the world predictions prove out it seems that some of their preparations (hence, preppers) are just common sense.  Keeping a 72 hour emergency kit for each member of your family (and don't forget your pets) is now a matter of common sense and not something just for preppers.

One of the last things i did want to mention in this week's blog is that of how difficult it seems to select the proper medicare coverage.  It seems that the choices are about as many as there are ways to charge a person.  There's the option of Original Medicare coverage or Medicare Advantage plans and then there are the Medigap Plans as well as need to go through all of your needed prescriptions to see which plan offers the best overall savings.  Once all that's sorted you still need to take into consideration that there's the vision and dental aspects that need to be reviewed and not part of standard/original Medicare Coverage.

With Memorial Day now behind us it's time for this family to move on with our summer of fun and all the logistical aspects needed to insure the same.
